This modern lake house, by Shean Architects in the Outaouais region of Quebec, Canada, have the uninterrupted view of water. The architect choose a materials that draw connections to the surrounding site. The location of the house was deliberately placed to maximize the view, with each level of the house providing a different perspective. The contemporary interior uses natural lighting from large windows to showcase raw materials to complement the surrounding trees.
A custom-designed window benches with padded cushions line the corner windows, making them the ideal place to relax and look out over the water. In the kitchen, they pair a simple white cabinets with backsplash gray tiles and an island with wood and black accents. The windows frame the trees and water views. It also providing views of the sunset and changing seasons. A staircase with wooden treads leads to the upper floor of the house, a view of the trees and artwork breaking down the white walls.
