Having a big empty nook in your entryway is a good thing because you can utilize it for anything you want. However, as good as a breakfast nook or library nook might sound, it doesn’t really fit for the entryway nook. It doesn’t mean you can’t repurpose your entryway nook into a lot of things, though. Here are three ways to repurpose your entryway nook.
1. Repurpose Your Entryway Nook into a Mudroom
It’s one of the most obvious choices. Having a mudroom will help you organize your entryway and make it extra clean. To repurpose your entryway nook into a mudroom, you need to make a long bench with cabinets underneath it.
The cabinets can be either closed or open cabinet, with three or four compartments in them. Right over the bench, you can build an open cabinet with hooks. You can use the hooks to hang your coats or bags.
2. Turn Your Entryway Nook into the Desk
Although a library nook in the entryway is a bit too much, you can still repurpose your entryway nook into a desk where you can read your morning newspaper in. It is also perfect for a house with not-too-wide entrance nook.Â
To have this desk nook, build a wooden desk and put a few decorations and mirror over it. You can also put a single sofa with a small table beside it. Now, you can read a newspaper while drinking coffee in your entrance nook.
3. Repurpose your Entryway Nook into Wall Decoration Shelf
If you have a smaller entryway nook, you can’t build a mudroom or desk in it. You can still utilize the free space, however, by repurposing it into a wall decoration shelf.Â
First, you have to put or build a cabinet that fits the space. You can use the top of the cabinet to put decorative vases. As for the empty space on top of it, build a glass shelf and put small decorative items, such as small plants, photos frames, or a small mirror.
Despite the limitation, you can repurpose your entryway nook into a lot of things. The size of the nook doesn’t matter; each size can be repurposed into a different kind of space. Hopefully, these three ways to repurpose your entryway nook can inspire you.
